BFI announces Spooky Season and Roger Corman centenary

The BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX have announced their Spooky Season programming, headlined by the Movie Maverick: 100 Years of Roger Corman centenary celebration. This six-week season honors the legendary director, producer, and distributor by showcasing his influential work, particularly his cycle of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations such as House of Usher, The Raven, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Masque of the Red Death.

In addition to the Corman tribute, the schedule includes a variety of horror and classic films. Highlights at the BFI IMAX include Godzilla Minus Zero, Donnie Darko, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as well as a 70mm presentation of Sinners. The BFI Southbank will host special events, including a restored version of The Devils and a conversation with producer Julie Corman regarding her late husband’s prolific career.
