BGF Retail completes largest convenience store logistics center in Busan
BGF Retail has completed construction of its Busan logistics center, the largest of its kind in the South Korean convenience store industry. Located in the Busan International Industrial Logistics City, the facility represents the company’s largest single logistics investment to date, totaling approximately 260 billion won.
The center is designed to optimize the delivery network for the Busan and Yeongnam regions while serving as a global hub. By leveraging its proximity to the Busan New Port, the facility will support CU’s international business expansions in markets including Mongolia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Hawaii.
The facility features advanced smart logistics technology, including an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS), auto-labelers, and digital picking systems (DPS). It has received a Grade 1 preliminary certification as a smart logistics center from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Additionally, the center includes solar power facilities capable of producing up to 2,700 MWh of electricity annually.
