Bhadohi authorities file case against duo for occupying public toilet

A case has been registered against Omkar Nath Tiwari and his son, Tribhuvan Nath Tiwari, in the Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly occupying a government community toilet intended for women since 2022. Despite repeated notices from the district administration, the duo reportedly refused to unlock the facility.

The matter came to light following a complaint by Rinku Mishra, the village head of Kudi Khurd. Investigations by local officials confirmed the toilet remained locked. Authorities also noted that the accused had submitted a false affidavit claiming no encroachment existed, which allegedly used the signature of an illiterate local resident to mislead the Panchayati Raj Department.

Police have filed charges under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including fraud, forgery, intentional insult to provoke breach of peace, and criminal intimidation. The incident also involved allegations of physical assault against the village head and her husband when they attempted to access the facility.
