Bhagalpur boat capsizes in Ganga River, leaving 3 laborers missing

A boat carrying 21 laborers capsized in the Ganga River in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Wednesday. The workers were traveling to work on preventing riverbank erosion by placing sandbags along the shore.

The accident occurred when the boat lost balance, reportedly due to an uneven weight distribution and a strong current from the river. According to witnesses, the boat was being steered toward the shore when the current pulled it inward, causing it to overturn.

Rescue teams and local administration responded to the scene. Approximately 18 workers have been pulled to safety, but three laborers remain missing. One of the missing individuals has been identified as Badal Mandal from Lodipur, Bhagalpur. Search operations are ongoing despite challenges posed by the river's strong current.
