Bhagat Chunni Lal memorial held in Jalandhar

A large gathering assembled in Jalandhar to pay their final respects to veteran Punjab leader and former Cabinet Minister Bhagat Chunni Lal. The memorial service, including an ‘Antim Ardas’, saw attendance from numerous political figures, including Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and various state ministers.

Bhagat Chunni Lal, who passed away at the age of 93, was a prominent figure in the Doaba region and a multi-term Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Jalandhar West. During his political career, he held several significant portfolios, including Local Bodies, Medical Education, and Forest & Wild Life Preservation.

Attendees described him as a “towering personality in Punjab’s politics” and a leader known for his integrity, humility, and accessibility to ordinary citizens. He was noted for his commitment to social welfare and his ability to maintain respect across different political spectrums.
