Bhajan Lal Sharma accuses Congress of discrediting constitutional institutions
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has accused the Congress party of attempting to discredit constitutional institutions to mask electoral losses. Sharma stated that instead of reviewing their lack of public support, the opposition is spreading misinformation and questioning the integrity of the electoral process.
Addressing claims regarding the Election Commission, Sharma noted that the Commission issued a joint statement on September 26 clarifying that key decisions, including the Special Institutional Report (SIR), were made unanimously by all three commissioners. He further highlighted that the Supreme Court upheld the legality of the SIR process on May 27, 2026, and challenged Congress to provide concrete evidence for their allegations.
In a separate development, Chief Minister Sharma met with newly elected BJP municipal councillors in Jaipur. Following a broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, he urged the councillors to create clear development blueprints for their respective wards to ensure progress reaches every citizen and to maintain strong connections with the public.
