Bharat Electronics wins ₹5.72 billion in new Indian defence contracts

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna public‑sector undertaking under India’s Ministry of Defence, announced fresh defence contracts totaling ₹5.72 billion (Rs 572 crore). The orders cover communication equipment, avionics, encryptors, tank sub‑systems, electronic voting machines, batteries, components, upgrades, spares and related services for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, expanding BEL’s order book across multiple strategic platforms.

The contracts come as BEL reported stronger financial results for the fourth quarter of FY26, with consolidated net profit rising 4.61 % year‑on‑year to ₹22.25 billion and revenue from operations increasing 11.74 % to ₹102.24 billion. Analysts note the win underscores BEL’s dominant position in India’s defence electronics market, its alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and its roughly 60 % share of the tri‑service electronics segment.
