BharatBenz opens India’s highest-altitude truck workshop in Leh
BharatBenz, in collaboration with PPS Trucking, has inaugurated a new sales, service, and spares (3S) facility in Phey Village, Leh, Ladakh. Situated at an altitude of approximately 11,550 feet along the Leh-Srinagar-Uri Highway, it is recognized as India’s highest-altitude commercial vehicle repair workshop.
The 20,000-square-foot facility is designed to support commercial vehicle operators working in demanding terrain and extreme weather conditions, including those involved in road construction, stone-crushing, and infrastructure projects near the Leh-China border. The workshop features three service bays and has the capacity to service over 1,400 vehicles annually.
Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and genuine spare parts, the center aims to reduce vehicle downtime for operators in regions such as Kargil and Drass. The facility also provides 24-hour roadside assistance and is staffed by more than 20 trained technicians to assist with heavy-duty maintenance and repairs.
