Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh stages nationwide protests over labor demands

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) conducted nationwide protests in India, including demonstrations in Shimla and New Delhi, to demand action on various labor and employee issues.

In Shimla, protesters gathered outside the Deputy Commissioner's office to criticize both the Central and Himachal Pradesh governments. Key demands included increasing the minimum monthly wage to Rs 30,000, releasing pending arrears and dearness allowance, and restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). The union also expressed objections to 28 provisions within the new labor codes and called for better social security for scheme workers, such as Anganwadi and ASHAs.

In New Delhi, members gathered at Jantar Mantar to urge the Central government to address long-standing concerns for pensioners, employees, and the unorganized workforce. Specific demands at the national level included higher minimum pensions, a revision of EPF and ESI wage ceilings, and changes to the recently introduced labor codes to better protect workers' interests.
