Bharti Airtel posts 37% profit rise in Q1 FY27, adds 1 million postpaid users

Bharti Airtel reported a 37.3% year‑on‑year increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended 30 June FY27, rising to Rs 8,167 crore from Rs 5,948 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations grew 18.4% YoY to Rs 58,539 crore, with the India business contributing Rs 41,214 crore.

The telecom operator added 14.9 million customers, taking its total subscriber base to 681 million across 15 countries. Its postpaid mobile segment saw a record addition of 1 million users, pushing the postpaid base to 30 million and raising average revenue per user to Rs 264. Airtel introduced the Postpaid Fast Lane service, using 5G network‑slicing to offer premium connectivity. Infrastructure expansion included 1,579 new towers and 14,540 mobile broadband base stations during the quarter.
