Bhilwara Police Encounter Kills Narcotics Smuggler Ganeshram in Rajasthan

On August 6, 2026, police of Rajasthan's Bhilwara district engaged a white luxury car on the Bhilwara‑Jaipur highway after it broke through a checkpoint. The occupants allegedly opened fire, prompting a shoot‑out that left narcotics smuggler Ganeshram, also known as Ganpat, dead at the scene. He was identified as a resident of Bhopalgarh in Jodhpur district and had multiple narcotics cases pending.

One accomplice was arrested at the scene while another escaped in the darkness. The vehicle was seized, and the body was taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post‑mortem examination. A Forensic Science Laboratory team collected evidence, and senior officials including Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana and Station House Officer Kanhaiyalal oversaw the operation.
