Bhim Army activists detained during protest march in Patna

Bhim Army activists held a ‘Rights March’ in Patna, Bihar, to demand an 85 percent domicile policy for government job recruitments. The protesters aimed to march from Gandhi Maidan toward the Raj Bhavan to advocate for increased opportunities for local youth in state government roles.

Police deployed significant security forces and erected barricades to block the march. Tensions escalated when activists attempted to breach the barricades, leading to clashes between protesters and law enforcement. Consequently, police detained several activists and halted the march before it reached its destination.

In addition to the reservation demands, participants raised concerns regarding upcoming Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) examinations and called for provisions allowing Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants to file FIRs online.
