Bhind road accident kills eight labourers and injures 32
Eight labourers were killed and 32 others injured following a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a dumper truck on the Bhind-Gwalior National Highway in Madhya Pradesh. The accident occurred around 1 am near Chhimka village.
The victims were workers returning to Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, after completing paddy transplantation work in Gwalior. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid cattle on the highway, causing the van to veer into the wrong direction.
Five people died at the scene, while three others died while being transported to the hospital. Rescuers and locals worked to free those trapped in the badly damaged vehicle. The injured were treated in Gohad, with the most seriously injured transferred to Gwalior for medical care.
