Bhiwadi illegal drug warehouse raid leads to seizure of 4 crore rupees in medicines

The Rajasthan Drug Control Commissionerate has launched an investigation following a raid on an unlicensed pharmaceutical warehouse in Bhiwadi. During the operation, authorities seized approximately 1,500 cartons of medicines and other goods valued at 4 crore rupees.

Quality testing of 18 samples collected from the site revealed that five samples failed to meet standards. In response, Drug Control Commissioner Avichal Chaturvedi has deployed inspection teams to the manufacturing units associated with the seized products. These teams will conduct detailed audits of manufacturing records, raw materials, quality control logs, and supply chain documentation to ensure compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore confirmed that the seized items remain in the custody of the Drug Control Officer per court orders. Officials emphasized that no negligence regarding public health or unlicensed pharmaceutical trade will be tolerated.
