Bhiwandi apartment fire destroys 14 vehicles

A major fire broke out in the parking area of Umar Apartment in the Khandupada area of Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, early Wednesday morning. The blaze spread rapidly, forcing residents of 25 flats to flee to the building's terrace to escape the smoke and flames.

Fourteen two-wheelers parked in the building's parking lot were destroyed in the incident. While no official fatalities or major injuries were confirmed, several children and elderly residents were hospitalized at a private facility after experiencing vomiting and breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation.

The Bhiwandi Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the flames, and Shantinagar Police have launched an investigation. While the exact cause remains unconfirmed, authorities suspect a short circuit may have triggered the fire.
