Bhola Yadav seeks to name CBI witness as additional accused in land-for-jobs case
Bhola Yadav, an accused in the land-for-jobs scam, has filed a plea to have CBI witness Ashok Kumar Jain summoned as an additional accused. Jain served as a General Manager in the Railways during the tenure of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is also an accused in the case.
Special Judge Prashant Kumar has scheduled a hearing for the application on August 17. The court also deferred the cross-examination of Jain to the same date due to the unavailability of a senior advocate representing Lalu Prasad Yadav.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) initiated the case on May 18, 2022, alleging that railway positions were granted to candidates in exchange for land transfers to the accused. The investigation involves charges related to conspiracy, fraud, and corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
