Bhopal and Indore Metro announce new ticket discount schemes
The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has announced a new promotional discount scheme for passengers using the Bhopal and Indore metro systems. Effective from October 11 through December 31, 2026, the initiative aims to increase ridership and encourage the use of public transit over private vehicles during the festive season.
Under the new rules, single journey tickets will receive an additional 25% discount, though this does not apply to tickets priced at 20 rupees. Return journey tickets will now feature a total discount of 30%, up from the previous 5%. Group tickets have also seen significant changes; the discount has increased from 10% to 35%, and the minimum requirement for a group ticket has been lowered from eight passengers to just two.
Additionally, passengers can benefit from e-wallet recharge bonuses ranging from 8% to 15% depending on the amount recharged. When combining ticket discounts with e-wallet bonuses, commuters can achieve total savings of up to approximately 44%.
