Bhopal: BJP Yuva Morcha leader dies of electrocution
Divyarishi Tiwari, a district general secretary for the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and a young advocate, died after coming into contact with a live electric pole in Bhopal. The incident occurred on a Sunday night near DB Mall in the MP Nagar area while Tiwari was out shopping with his family.
Reports indicate that Tiwari touched a roadside street light pole while attempting to cross the road, resulting in a severe electric shock. His wife was also briefly caught in the current but managed to pull away. Despite immediate CPR efforts by traffic police and medical attention at Narmada Hospital and AIIMS Bhopal, Tiwari was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered a formal inquiry into the death. Bhopal Collector Priyank Mishra has formed a four-member committee, including officials from the electricity department and health services, to investigate the circumstances and determine responsibility. The committee is expected to submit its findings within five days. The incident has raised significant concerns regarding the maintenance and safety of electrical infrastructure in the region.
