Bhopal court denies bail for husband in dowry‑death case of Twisha Sharma
Twisha Sharma, 33, was found dead on the night of May 12, 2026, at her matrimonial home in Katara Hills, Bhopal. Police registered a first‑information report against her husband, advocate Samarth Singh, and his mother, retired district judge Giribala Singh, accusing them of dowry‑related death, harassment and evidence tampering.
A six‑member Special Investigation Team, led by Assistant Commissioner Rajnish Kashyap, was formed to probe the allegations. Giribala Singh was granted anticipatory bail, while Samarth Singh, who has been absconding since the night of the death, had his interim bail plea rejected by the Bhopal district court. Police announced a Rs 10,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and continue searching for him.
Twisha’s family has refused to accept her body pending a second post‑mortem outside Madhya Pradesh, alleging inadequate investigation by state authorities.
