Bhopal Court Extends Custody of Ex‑Judge Giribala Singh and Son in Twisha Sharma Murder Probe
A court in Bhopal has extended the judicial custody of former district judge Giribala Singh and her son, lawyer Samarth Singh, until August 11. The extension follows a request from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which said additional witnesses still need to be questioned and the accused could influence the investigation if released.
Twisha Sharma, a 33‑year‑old model‑actress, was found dead in her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills on May 12. While her in‑laws claimed suicide, her family alleges murder. A second post‑mortem ordered by the Madhya Pradesh High Court and conducted by an AIIMS medical board examined the alleged ligature—a gymnastics belt with a metal ring—and found skin tissue consistent with the injuries. The final report remains sealed and has been submitted to the CBI. The case has been transferred to the CBI after earlier investigations by local police and a special investigation team.
