Bhopal ex‑servicemen rally for fresh post‑mortem in Twisha Sharma case

On May 20, retired Major General Shyam Srivastav led a bike rally of former soldiers in Bhopal demanding a fair investigation and a second post‑mortem for Twisha Sharma, who died under disputed circumstances. The procession moved from the Shaurya Smarak to the Deputy Inspector‑General of Police office, then proceeded to Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister’s residence, signalling a call for official accountability.

Rally participants emphasized solidarity with the Sharma family and urged that forensic procedures involve the relatives at every stage. Twisha’s father, Nav Nidhi Sharma, has filed a petition in the court to ensure that the true cause of death is ascertained and that any delay does not compromise forensic findings. A court hearing on the matter was scheduled for the same day as the rally.
