Bhopal police arrest five in suspected organ trafficking murder plot
Police in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, have arrested five individuals, including three minors, in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy. The investigation has uncovered a suspected organ trafficking conspiracy involving a mastermind who allegedly promised accomplices massive sums of money.
According to authorities, the primary suspect, Zoheb Khan, who reportedly posed as a doctor, lured the accomplices with promises of earning between 1.20 crore and 2 crore rupees by harvesting an organ from a teenager. The victim, who sold pens and keychains, was lured away under the pretext of resolving a dispute in exchange for 100 rupees.
After the victim was killed near Chhota Talab, the suspects allegedly attempted to remove an organ from his body. Police believe the organ was discarded in a lake after a buyer could not be secured. Investigators have recovered the murder weapon and the victim's mobile phone, and are working to exhume the body for further forensic examination.
