Bhopal police investigate Twisha Sharma death as family accuses husband and mother‑in‑law of murder
Twisha Sharma, a 31‑year‑old married to criminal lawyer Supporter Singh, died under suspicious circumstances in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area. Her family claims she suffered mental and physical abuse after just five months of marriage and points to injury marks found in a short post‑mortem report that contradict the official cause of death by hanging. The relatives have accused her husband and mother‑in‑law, retired judge Giribala Singh, of murder and demanded an impartial investigation, approaching Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.
Two days after the family’s complaints, Bhopal police filed an FIR against Supporter Singh, Giribala Singh and others. Twisha’s parents, especially father Navnidhi Sharma, criticised the police for delays, incomplete evidence collection and the granting of pre‑emptive bail to the mother‑in‑law while the husband’s bail hearing is pending. They also alleged a financial motive, saying the husband wanted a share in stock investments made in Twisha’s name. The family is seeking a fresh post‑mortem and a thorough probe of the case.
