Bhopal teacher candidates protest for appointments and salary

In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, merit-holding candidates for Class 2 and Class 3 teacher recruitments have continued their protests for ten days. The demonstrators are demanding the immediate issuance of appointment letters and the payment of two months of overdue salaries.

The protesters claim that while thousands of teaching positions remain vacant in the state, approximately 850 merit holders are still awaiting appointments. They have expressed frustration with the government, noting that despite previous assurances from the Chief Minister and the Education Minister, no action has been taken.

During a recent attempt to march toward the Chief Minister’s residence, police detained several candidates at Roshanpura Crossing. Protesters alleged that they were peacefully sitting on the pavement when police used force to transport them to various police stations, including Khajuri Sadak and Ratibad. The demonstrators have vowed to continue their movement until orders for post increments are officially issued.
