Bhopal: Transport inspector murdered, suspect commits suicide

A transport inspector, Meenakshi Gokhale, was killed in the Khajuri Sadak police station area of Bhopal. Gokhale, who was posted as an inspector in Datia, reportedly traveled to Bhopal from Datia on Sunday evening with her daughter.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred at the residence of Pawan Kumar Dwivedi in Lake Pearl Colony. Reports indicate that Gokhale and Dwivedi were in a long-term relationship, but a dispute arose regarding marriage. Following a disagreement where Gokhale allegedly refused to marry him, Dwivedi reportedly struck her with a hammer, causing her death.

Following the killing, Dwivedi committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near the residence. Police have secured evidence from the scene and are conducting further investigations to confirm the exact circumstances and motives behind the incident.
