BHP eliminates gender pay gap at Escondida mine

BHP has announced the closure of the gender pay gap for equivalent positions at its Escondida mine in Chile. This milestone is part of the company's broader strategy regarding inclusion, diversity, and equity.

As the world's largest copper producer, Escondida reports a female workforce of 45.3%, representing more than 1,700 women. Additionally, women hold 51% of leadership roles within the operation. To support workforce well-being, the company has implemented programs such as certified lactation rooms, personal protective equipment adapted for women, and specialized work schemes for employees with children under two years of age.
