BHP Group shares see investor buying and stable performance amid commodity outlook
Institutional investors increased their holdings in BHP Group Limited Sponsored ADR shares in the first quarter. Guardian Partners Inc. added 16,224 shares, bringing its total to 122,177 shares valued at about $8.9 million. Several other funds also reported new positions or modest additions.
During July the BHP share price was largely flat, up roughly 1 % on the month and about 50 % higher than a year earlier. The miner announced record iron‑ore production to June end, while copper output fell 3 % year‑on‑year, partly due to a conveyor‑belt failure at the Carrapateena mine in South Australia that may affect output for up to eight weeks. Analysts mainly rate the stock as a hold, with average target prices near US$62‑63, suggesting limited upside potential.
