BHU Botanist joins international research meeting in China

Dr. Surendra Kumar Gond, an Associate Professor from the Department of Botany at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), participated in an international collaborative research meeting at Kunming University of Science and Technology in China. The conference, held from August 26 to September 4, 2026, focused on the theme of plant-microbe interactions.

During the event, Dr. Gond presented research regarding the role of plant-associated microorganisms in enhancing crop protection and increasing stress tolerance within agricultural systems. The meeting facilitated knowledge exchange between scientists from China, Brazil, and India.

In addition to formal presentations, the collaboration included laboratory visits and observations of field experiments. The research group announced that the next edition of this collaborative meeting will be hosted in Brazil.
