Bhupender Yadav and Yogi Adityanath review Delhi-NCR air pollution plans

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow to review air quality management strategies for the Delhi-NCR region.

The discussions focused on accelerating pollution control measures before the winter season. Key priorities include curbing road dust through paving, roadside greening, and the deployment of geo-tagged mechanical road sweeping machines to ensure accountability. The review also covered eight NCR districts, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Bulandshahr.

Additional topics addressed include managing vehicle emissions, implementing new electric vehicle policies for buses, and controlling industrial pollution. The Minister also commended the state's progress under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), noting that Lucknow has emerged as a leader in air quality improvement efforts among surveyed cities.
