Jan Suraaj Party replaces Tirhut MLC candidate following Bhushan Jha's resignation

The Jan Suraaj Party has replaced Bhushan Jha with Shyam Nandan Kumar Yadav as its candidate for the Tirhut teachers’ constituency in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections.

Bhushan Jha resigned from the party and announced he will contest as an independent candidate after alleging objectionable treatment during a review meeting led by Prashant Kishor. Jha claimed that party workers prevented teachers from recording the proceedings and pressured him to follow a predetermined script. The party, however, stated the change was necessary because Jha made unacceptable remarks regarding teachers during a meeting in Muzaffarpur.

Shyam Nandan Kumar Yadav, a former Indian Army member and current school principal, has been named the new nominee. The Bihar MLC elections, which include four graduate and four teacher constituencies, are scheduled for October 23, with nominations being filed through October 6.
