Bhutan ranked as the world's quietest country

Bhutan has been named the quietest country in the world according to a recent study by travel agency Go2Africa. The South Asian nation achieved a ‘Quiet Score’ of 89.44, earning the top spot in a list of the ten most tranquil destinations globally.

The ranking was determined by analyzing several factors, including total population, tourist density, the extent of rural and protected areas, and vehicle traffic volume. Data for the study was compiled from global studies, online databases, and government reports.

Described as an isolated mountain paradise in the shadow of the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan maintains its tranquility through strict tourism regulations. Visitors are required to access the country via licensed local agencies and pay a daily Sustainable Development Fee. The country features vast wilderness areas, including forested mountains and sparsely populated valleys, covering over 39,000 square kilometers. Namibia followed Bhutan in the rankings.
