Bhuvneshwar Kumar to captain Lucknow Falcons in UP T20 League

Veteran cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will captain the Lucknow Falcons in the fourth season of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League, which is scheduled to begin on August 14. Kumar highlighted the tournament's importance as a platform for young players to secure spots in the IPL and the Indian national team, noting that previous participants have successfully made that transition.

The upcoming season will feature 34 matches over 24 days and will be hosted across two venues for the first time. The opening phase will take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, hosting 22 matches. The tournament will then move to Green Park Stadium in Kanpur for the final 12 matches, including the knockout stages. The final is set for September 6 in Kanpur.

Regarding his own career, Kumar stated he is focused on current performances rather than predicting future opportunities for the ODI World Cup squad, noting, “I have to play, I am playing. I can't predict what will happen after that.”
