Bia Kicis prioritizes STF impeachment and amnesty
Newly elected Senator Bia Kicis (PL) has identified the impeachment of Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Alexandre de Moraes and the granting of amnesty to those convicted in the January 8 incidents as top priorities for the right-wing bloc starting in 2027.
Kicis argued that the public is demanding these actions and criticized the current judicial structure. She advocated for judicial reform, including the implementation of fixed terms for STF ministers to prevent indefinite tenure. Additionally, she addressed criticisms regarding STF ministers Nunes Marques and André Mendonça, stating that while some on the right feel Nunes Marques should have acted sooner to release Jair Bolsonaro, the claims of left-wing bias in their decisions are unfounded.
Separately, re-elected State Deputy Carla Morando stated that her current focus remains on the presidential runoff rather than the 2028 municipal elections. Morando intends to coordinate with the state government to secure investments for infrastructure, specifically the Metro Line 20-Rosa, as well as health and housing sectors.
