Biamp deploys hands-free voice reinforcement at Emory University

Biamp has deployed its Parlé Voice Lift technology at Emory College of Arts and Sciences in Atlanta to provide hands-free voice reinforcement in classrooms. The system was piloted in Anthropology Room 303, utilizing existing Parlé TCM Beamtracking ceiling microphones and TesiraFORTÉ X processors already installed across approximately 140 learning spaces on campus.

The technology is designed to eliminate the need for handheld or wearable microphones, which often require management of wireless bodypacks, charging docks, and batteries. Griffin Fisher, manager of classroom technology services at Emory College of Arts and Sciences, noted that the solution avoids the logistical challenges associated with traditional voice lift systems. Following the pilot, Biamp and Emory are evaluating further deployments, including administrative meeting rooms used by university leadership.
