Bianca Andreescu and Liam Draxl face rain delays at US Open

Rain delays have pushed the final US Open qualifying matches for Canadian players Bianca Andreescu and Liam Draxl to Friday.

Andreescu was leading 2-0 against Slovenia’s Tamara Zidansek when her match was suspended. On the men’s side, Draxl’s final round qualifying match against Australia’s Tristan Schoolkate was also postponed due to weather.

Earlier in the day, Canadian Carson Branstine was eliminated from the tournament after losing to American Robin Montgomery with a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. The main draw of the Grand Slam is scheduled to begin on Sunday.
