Bianca Censori declines traditional interviews and highlights Italian roots

Australian architect and model Bianca Censori has announced her decision to decline traditional media interviews. In a detailed letter to Welcome magazine, Censori addressed the pressures of fame and the social expectations placed on women. She noted that women are often expected to exist within a “narrow range of socially acceptable self-image.”

Censori cited a previous experience with Vanity Fair, where she felt the published text did not fully represent her identity, as a primary reason for her shift in communication style. She also discussed the contradictions regarding female nudity and the social scrutiny she faces regarding her personal choices.

Additionally, Censori’s family history has drawn attention to her Italian roots. While born in Melbourne, her paternal family, including her grandparents Filippo and Grazia Censori, emigrated from Giulianova, Italy, to Australia in 1960. Although Censori has traveled through Italy, including cities like Florence and Milan, she has not yet met her extended family residing in the Abruzzo region.
