Biancoforno workers hold strike in Fornacette over labor dispute

Employees at Biancoforno in Fornacette held a strike, demonstration, and procession on October 1, 2026, to demand dignity, respect for rights, and the reinstatement of a dismissed worker. Organized by Flai Cgil Pisa and Tuscany, the mobilization included national Flai Cgil Secretary General Giovanni Mininni and received support from local administration and various political entities.

The union has denounced obstacles to holding assemblies, disciplinary disputes, and suspensions, describing a growing climate of tension on the production lines. Mininni stated he would not enter the company until the worker is reinstated and proper union relations are restored, noting that the dismissal has transformed the local dispute into a national battle.

In contrast to the union's stance, strike participation was reported at 8.5% of the workforce. Some employees expressed concerns regarding the high level of conflict, calling for reduced confrontation and more dialogue between the company, workers, and unions to achieve concrete results and protect the company's image.
