Linda Nosková welcomed in Přerov after Wimbledon triumph
Czech teenager Linda Nosková captured the Wimbledon women’s singles title, earning a prize of £3.6 million. British tax rules placed 45 % of the winnings in the tax net, leaving her with roughly half the amount after deductions. Nosková said she does not know the exact net figure and plans to donate a portion to charity rather than spend on luxury items.
Following her victory, Nosková returned to her hometown of Přerov, where a thousand fans gathered on the main square. The celebration featured a concert by the band O5 and Radeček, a special Wimbledon‑shaped cake, strawberries with cream and a presentation of a silver tennis‑ball souvenir. Nosková expressed that she feels at home in Přerov and will soon resume training for the upcoming American hard‑court season.
She also disclosed details of her post‑match outfit—white recycled‑fabric dress and Jimmy Choo shoes—costing about 30,000 CZK, a modest sum for a global sport star.
