Białystok hosts tenth Memory Peloton commemorating WWII

On 23 August 2026, Białystok will hold the tenth edition of the Memory Peloton, a historic 8 km ride beginning at 17:00 from the square in front of the Aleksander Węgierka Drama Theatre. Participants of all ages may travel by bicycle, scooter, roller‑skates or roller‑blades, turning the event into a live lesson in the city’s World War II and Soviet‑repression history.

Mayor Tadeusz Truskolaski stressed the significance of 23 August 1939, the day the Ribbentrop‑Molotov Pact was signed, while Museum of Memory of Siberia director Wojciech Śleszyński highlighted the peloton’s international dimension. In 2026 partner cities will host parallel rides in Riga (18 Aug), Tallinn (20 Aug), Vilnius (21 Aug) and Chișinău (30 Aug). Registration is open until 13 August or until all places are filled.
