Białystok unveils new mural celebrating Podlasie heritage
A new mural celebrating the Podlasie region was unveiled on September 18 at Krakowskiej 17 in Białystok. Designed by artist Bernarda Nikitorowicz, the artwork features a female figure wearing a traditional colorful wreath.
The mural incorporates regional symbols, including the St. Roch Basilica, local Orthodox churches, and the wooden architecture characteristic of the Land of Open Shutters. The piece aims to represent the multiculturalism and diversity of the Podlasie region.
The project was implemented by the MARCHAND Foundation with the strategic partnership of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The painting was executed by graduates of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. The unveiling was attended by local government officials, including Vice-Marshal Wiesława Burnos and Voivode Jacek Brzozowski.
