Bibliotheca Alexandrina concludes Safe Shield child protection program

Bibliotheca Alexandrina, through its Women's Studies and Social Transformation program, has concluded the ‘Safe Shield’ program for educational and pedagogical institutions. Conducted in collaboration with the Safe Egypt foundation, the initiative aims to strengthen child protection systems and foster safe, child-friendly learning environments.

The four-day training program focused on equipping caregivers, teachers, psychologists, and social workers with the skills to prevent violence, abuse, neglect, and bullying. Key topics included the psychological well-being of caregivers, physical and psychological abuse, emotional expression, and digital safety to protect children in online environments.

Moving forward, Safe Egypt will conduct school visits to oversee awareness sessions led by program graduates and assist in developing emergency response plans. The program seeks to create a sustainable impact by transforming acquired knowledge into continuous preventive practices within schools.
