Colombia prepares for holiday season with cultural events and Christmas lights
Various Colombian cities are launching seasonal festivities and cultural programs. In Bogotá, BibloRed is opening a new reading room at the Avenida Chile Shopping Center in Chapinero to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Additionally, IDARTES is hosting ‘Desbordes’, a series of free literary exploration sessions focused on reading and writing across several academic venues.
Holiday preparations are underway across the country. Medellín has begun installing large-scale light displays themed around global cultures, while Ibagué is setting up decorations on Carrera Quinta, with plans to manage energy consumption due to the El Niño phenomenon. In Cali, Christmas lighting will include tributes to earthquake victims.
Local shopping centers are also announcing seasonal events, including festive lighting in Soacha, circus performances in Piedecuesta, and an ecological ice skating rink in Ibagué.
