BIC and Tchibo offer diverse lighter technologies

Consumer goods companies are offering diverse ignition solutions ranging from traditional butane models to modern electric alternatives.

BIC has released the BIC Maxi lighter, a butane-powered device designed for durability and high-frequency use. The model is engineered to provide approximately 3,000 ignitions and features a reinforced spark wheel mechanism to prevent accidental ignition. The device utilizes a standard 4.5-gram butane reservoir and is designed for stability and reliability in everyday environments such as kiosks and gas stations.

In contrast, Tchibo is promoting an electric USB lighter that utilizes a plasma arc rather than an open flame. This wind-resistant device is rechargeable via USB-C and provides approximately 50 ignitions per charge, with a full recharge time of roughly two hours. The device includes an LED battery indicator and measures approximately 5.5 x 6 centimeters.
