Bicara Udara promotes air quality awareness for outdoor athletes
The foundation Bicara Udara (Yayasan Udara Anak Bangsa) has launched a campaign during the MyBCA Jakarta Running Festival 2026 to highlight the risks of air pollution and the right to clean air. Through the initiative, the organization released an educational booklet titled ‘Run Smart, Breathe Easy: An Air Quality Guide for Pelari Kalcer’.
The guide was developed in consultation with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the Jakarta Provincial Environmental Agency, and medical specialists. It provides information on factors affecting air quality and offers guidance on how runners can adjust their activities based on environmental conditions.
Co-founder Novita Natalia emphasized that air quality information should be a standard part of preparation for outdoor activities. The campaign aims to use sporting moments to broaden public understanding of the necessity of clean air as a fundamental right.
