Bidar police book seven for alleged terror links and arms trafficking
Police in Bidar have registered an FIR against seven individuals following allegations of contact with banned terrorist organizations and involvement in illegal arms trafficking via social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram.
The primary accused, 24-year-old Vishalakumar Vijaykumar Metre, was apprehended after police intercepted communications on his mobile device. Investigations revealed he was active in private WhatsApp groups, including ‘Rahe Haq’ and ‘RANA BHAI 333’, which reportedly contained content threatening India’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty.
Authorities claim Metre had contact with individuals identified as Pakistani terrorists, including Shahzad Bhatti, as well as others linked to illegal arms smuggling in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The case has been registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal conspiracy. Police are currently examining digital evidence to determine if any actual weapons were purchased or transported.
