Biddeford hosts annual softball event for recovery community and law enforcement

The sixth annual Recovery Softball BBQ was held at Rotary Park in Biddeford to foster connection between individuals in addiction recovery and law enforcement officers. Organized by Ryan and Cynthia Paige through the AccessDirect Recovery Network, the event aims to reduce the stigma associated with both substance abuse and policing.

Participants in various stages of sobriety played alongside police and sheriff’s department personnel. For some attendees, the event provided a rare opportunity to engage in social activities in a substance-free environment. The initiative seeks to build community trust and support for those navigating the recovery process.
