Biedronka store in Łódź undergoes modernization

The Biedronka discount store located on Paradna Avenue in Łódź, Poland, has been temporarily closed for several weeks due to ongoing renovation work. The site is currently fenced off and contains construction debris, leading to local concerns regarding its permanent closure.

Representatives from the Biedronka network confirmed the closure is strictly for modernization to implement the company’s ‘layout 3.0’ standard. The upgrades will include technological improvements such as LED lighting, energy-efficient refrigeration units using CO2, and a Building Management System (BMS).

Following the renovation, the sales floor will be expanded to 923 square meters. The store will also feature increased automation, expanding from six to nine self-service checkouts, alongside two traditional registers, electronic price tags, and a bread slicer.
