Biela noc festival to bring contemporary art to Bratislava and Košice
The Biela noc festival, Slovakia’s largest contemporary art festival, will return to Bratislava and Košice this October. In Bratislava, the event runs from October 2 to 4, while Košice will host installations from October 9 to 11.
The festival features artists from over 13 countries, including Japan, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Highlights include a light performance by the Slovak studio LUMI SWAY involving 300 drones over the Danube, and a light signal broadcast from the Kamzík television tower to commemorate milestones in radio and television history.
Other notable installations include the world premiere of ‘Strata’ by British studio Rebel Overlay, an immersive installation by Japanese artist Yasuhiro Chidu on the Main Square, and interactive works by Swiss artist Cyril Gfeller. While many works are in public spaces, some exclusive zones require a paid pass.
