Biella police and journalist prevent suicide via digital intervention

A journalist and local police in Biella successfully prevented a suicide attempt after receiving a distress message via Messenger.

Journalist Mauro Pollotti received a message from an acquaintance stating, ‘It is my last night alive. I can’t do this anymore.’ Pollotti maintained contact with the individual to prevent them from disconnecting while alerting the Biella Police Headquarters.

Following instructions from the police to continue the chat to determine the person's location, the individual eventually shared their address. Police officers arrived at the residence and found the man in a state of shock but physically unharmed. He was subsequently taken to the emergency room for medical and psychological support.
