Bielsko-Biała hosts art and nature festivals in October
The city of Bielsko-Biała will host two distinct events merging art, nature, and community engagement this October.
On Thursday, October 15, the 24th Tree Festival will take place in the Mysterious Garden near the Jewish Cemetery. Organized by Klub Gaja and Galeria Bielska BWA, the event features ecological and artistic workshops. A central highlight is the unveiling of two symbolic gates designed to encourage reflection on the relationship between humanity and nature. One installation, created by Jarosław Koziara and featuring a glass element by Justyna Żak, serves as a passage between the sacred and the profane. The second installation, by visual artist Waldemar Rudyk, consists of vertical forms resembling tree trunks.
On Saturday, October 17, artist Paweł Althamer will lead the Forest Festival in Cygański Las. Invited by Galeria Bielska BWA, the project combines performance, movement, and mindfulness. Participants are encouraged to adopt the roles of trees and other forest figures through performative actions and meditation. The event concludes with a communal bonfire and refreshments.
